Andrew Simmons, Digital Press Acquisitions & Operations
Andrew Simmons began his career in the printing business at the age of 15, running an AB Dick press for a commercial quick printer. In the late 1980′s, he began producing some of the first digital color separations on a Macintosh computer for the art department of a commercial enterprise. During the 1990s, Simmons held a number of positions in a commercial printing company including typesetter and prepress manager.
Simmons started his own printing company, Moby Digital, in 1998 with the first installed Xerox DocuColor 70 (based on the Xeikon engine) in the country, later adding an Indigo press and conventional offset, creating one of the first digital print companies in San Diego.
From 2000 through 2009, Simmons held sales positions with IKON, Kodak NexPress and Ricoh, leaving IKON/Ricoh in 2009 to publish Digital Print 360, an online publication that was originally established in 2000 as PrintOnDemand.com and sold to WhatTheyThink 360 in August of 2010.
Having sold, owned or operated nearly every type of digital press on the market, Simmons brings deep expertise in helping companies make the right decisions for a profitable future.
