Acquisition Report

by Andrew Simmons on February 7, 2010

Now that Web2Print is behind us, we are setting our sights on some new products for our Highly Optimized Production Space.

Our first new acquisition will be a UV coater for the press. This would be for flood coating, and we’re planning to add a conveyor belt to the back of the DP60 to feed prints from the press into the UV coater automatically. I expect us to complete this acquisition by mid-March.

Our second acquisition of which we are researching now is offering mailing services to our customers. I’m not sure what direction we’ll go with this, but we see it as a necessary service to offer our customers.

We’ll also be building a “pretty” website for the new web2print solution from PageDNA. I’ve already build the backend storefront, and it was extremely easy to use. In fact, I had much of it built between 10pm and 2am the night we activated the platform.

This next week we’ll be meeting with Ironsides Technology on their camera system for the press, working out the implementation of their system. I’m pretty excited to see this come about, and if it works as I expect it will, you’ll be hearing a lot more about it in the coming weeks and months.

More on these new acquisitions next week.
